Description
Persephone is the daughter of nature, her mother is the goddess of harvest, Demeter. Persephone is depicted as a youthful, beautiful, and a goddess full of life. Her beauty draws the attention of Hades, the Greek god of the underworld, who abducted Persephone while she was out picking flowers. After Persephone’s disappearance, Demeter looked everywhere for her child, causing mayhem and destruction everywhere she went, the earth began to suffer, crops died, animals became barren and the realm transformed to a cold and lifeless land. Considering the fate of the world is at hand, Zeus convinced Hades that he must return Persephone to Demeter, however at this point Persephone had already consumed several pomegranate seeds from the underworld, which stops her from leaving the underworld according to the rules, which results in Persephone having to spend Summer and Spring with Demeter and Winter and Autumn with Hades.
