Bastet, Stick, Incense Burner has lots of symbolic meaning for you to discover.
Bastet (also called Bast) is an ancient Egyptian deity in the form of a cat. She is often depicted as a seated black cat wearing gold hoop earrings and an elaborate golden scarab necklace.
Because cats have large litters of kittens and are very vocal, Bastet represented both fertility and musicianship to the Egyptians and her aid was petitioned for favors by women wishing to become pregnant as well as by singers and instrumentalists hoping to improve their skills and advance their musical careers.
Cast iron cauldron. Very fire safe. Perfect for burning resin incense or herbs over charcoal. Also works as a candle holder. You can even put sand in the bottom and use for stick and cone incense. A must have for every altar.
Please note: the last shipment of these we received are more of a silvery black (like hematite) than very black. They also do not have the goddess symbol inside the moon in the center.
The photo shows the very black but this listing is for the hematite color.
